Since 1976 - over 40 years of service to the Big Island construction industry.
What is your primary product or service?
General Building Construction and General Engineering Construction work, including residential, commercial, institutional and light industrial projects of any size and complexity.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Have always enjoyed building unique things of beauty and functionality, whether in earth, water, stone, wood or metal. Our family has been in the engineering and construction industries for generations.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our company is well known for high quality, excellent value and honest relationships. We've been fortunate to earn many awards and accolades for our work and community involvement. How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our main office is located in Kohala and we have baseyards in Kona's industrial area and in the Kona Kohala Resort area. We also maintain several field offices at Hualalai, Kukio and Kohanaiki Resorts, in Waimea and the Kailua, Kona area.
Provide detailed directions to your location
The business office is located in the rural area of Hawi, on the beautiful Kohala Mountain Road between Hawi and Kamuela. Look for the big brown barn at the 18.5 mile marker; the one with the solar pv panels on the roof!
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept personal and business checks, bank drafts, wire transfers, etc.
Which areas do you service?
All of the Big Island and some special projects on other Hawaiian islands.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
The Company is a Hawaii Limited Liability Company who's Managing Member and Responsible Managing Employee is John F. Metzler. Operations are handled by a group of dedicated professionals; see a list on our website at www.metzlercontracting.com and contact us for an interview.
What are your hours of operation?
Business office is open from 7:00 to 4:00 on weekdays. Field offices and Baseyards are generally open from 6:30 to 5:00 on weekdays.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
We consider it a compliment when other contractors and architects use our work as a benchmark against which to gauge their product and value...this happens frequently and in all areas of our business.
